This sale is for a rare and very scarce to find brass caroffere miners lamp. Elaborately stamped in the base and top \" Manufactr. By Shanklin Mfg. Co. ~~ Springfield , ILL. ~~ U. S. A. \" and on top \" Guys Dropper ~~ Patent Dates 1912 , 1916 , 1920 & 1925 \". Measures approx. 4\" tall by 31/2\" wide. It is in very good condition with normal wear on a nearly 100 year old items used in the mining industry . The whale oil in then last quarter of the 19th century and toward the end utilized a paraffin wax before they were replaced with the advent of the caroffere miner\'s lamp around 1900m which this is a fine example of .
