Tokaidochu Hizakurige, abbreviated as Hizakurige and known in translation as Shank\'s Mare, is a picaresque comic novel (known as kokkei-bon) about the misadventures of two travelers on the Tokaido, the main road between Kyoto and Edo during the Edo Period.

CONDITION

The binding is generally tight and firm. The hinges are just starting, with the cloth split. The inner hinges are strained.The first few pages are becoming slightly detached. There is somewear to the extremities, including somebumping, with closed tears to the top and tail of the spine. Internally the pageshave slight browning with slight spots to thefirst and last few pages. Overall the condition is good.
