From a Tucson estate some years ago and a bringback remembrance from some long ago visit to Northern Arizona (or perhaps purchased from one of the fabled curio shops right here in the Old Pueblo) is this attractive I believe 1930\'s or so Navajo ingot silver bracelet with old style stamp work embellishment and a nice greenish blue turquoise set mounted in a plain bezel. all adding to the distinctly period look - construction features fully indicative of an artisan hand making in those times. The bracelet appears to be of ingot metal - hammered and then evened to uniform thickness through the use of a roller - it has good visual charisma and reflects the skill of a tribal craftsman working by hand accomplished means, as good new roads finally opened the American Southwest for tourism - thank you, Franklin Roosevelt. It also falls within the broad genre of so-called Fred Harvey Southwestern jewelry crafted as a more wearable period alternative to tribal aesthetic jewelry, but is a bit earlier than the more typical and stereotypical versions often seen. Here there are no walking dogs or arrow motifs - there are, however, clear elements of real tribal aesthetic. Weight is good for the form at about 15 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with an aura of time and signs of period purposeful use to the surfaces as seen in the pics. That said this and some of the carinate bracelets I have listed were stored in tarnish resistant cloth bags for a long time which protected them from heavy tarnish - meaning they are just lightly toned and look pretty much as worn in the long ago (if a deeper toning is your preference, just leave it out and it will get there on its own.). A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition?a classic Depression Era bracelet that will look great worn about in Santa Fe or wherever you live. Inner circumference is about 5 5/8 in. plus the 15/16 in. opening; about 11/32 in. across (wide) at the front. If you collect earlier 20th Century Southwestern tribal referenced silver adornment and especially Navajo Fred Harvey bracelets as this, or simply wish this single noticeable improvement to the ambiance of each day, this will have great meaning for you.
