The Ideal Toy Company starting producing the Shirley Temple Doll in the fall of 1934. After the Christmas holidays they realized just how popular the doll was going to be and got the copyright in order to be the only company to make the doll. This doll is a first run version of the Shirley Temple Doll after Ideal aquired the copyright. It was made in 1935 and still wears the original dress it came in. The doll stands 13\" tall and has the \"Flirty Eyes\" that still work perfectly. (close when laid down, open when standing)
Please note the excellent condition of the doll itself as this is what makes this doll valuable. The skin tone and compositionare in near perfect condition. There is virtually NO crazing on this doll. The hair, eyes and body are in pristine condition. Please compare this doll to other Shirley\'s of the same era. You will see the difference instantly. A doll in this condition is extraordinarily rare!
