The Nº1 Mickey Mouse Watchfrom the Chicago World’s Fair has different characteristics from the latermodels. The bezel has Art Deco geometric designs and the casing is stampedstainless steel with wire lugs (both features were abandoned later in the Fall of1933).
This was the original Ingersoll Mite model and it was available with eitherleather straps or stainless steel bracelets both with novelty Mickey Charms.

There is a noticeable difference between the WirelugIngersoll Mite model (Chicago Expo) and the Deluxe Mite (released in the Fallof 1933). The watch face has various design differences, the most obvious beingthat the numbers 5 and 7 in the Wirelug version sit above and outside of Mickey\'sknees, while in later versions the font characters for the 5 and 7 are reducedin size and printed below the knees. The Nº1 wirelug Mickey also has a unique secondwheel disc with no arrow marker between the spinning Mickey images. The DeluxeMite and succeeding models have the arrow between 2 of the 3 Mickeys to determinethe seconds on the spinning disc.

The Nº1 Box is unique to the Wirelug Mickey Watch, though the Wirelugwatch was also presented in the \'Critter Box\'. Later designs, which made use ofthe Ingersoll Deluxe Mite version, also used the more commonly seen \'CritterBox\' design. This box displayed the various Disney characters accompanyingMickey Mouse. This box was redesigned for the later \'35, \'36 and \'37 models asa blue box with a single image of Mickey and a free-standing insert.

This sale includesthe Nº1 watch, with the original bracelet (extra links added), and the original Nº1 orange box.The watch is in fantastic condition. Crystal is in near mint condition and hasno chips or cracks. The box is in fine condition and has some minor wear (seepictures). Box is complete with insert and guarantee paper. Outsideof box shows scattered light aging, but the color remains strong and theinterior is exceptionally clean.

This watch is an amazing example of the most soughtafter Mickey Mouse watch ever produced. The watch winds freely, the time setseffortlessly, and the watch currently runs and keeps time, but no guarantee ismade as to its accuracy to keep time or continue to run in the future.
