Early in 1937 the Royal Canadian Mint was awaiting the arrival of the master tooling from England, for New George VI coinage, when (now in 1937) they ran an emergency issue of 25 cent quarters from the 1936 George V tooling and added a raised DOT at the bottom centre under the wreath, to denote this emergency low-quantity run.It took 4 years before knowledge of this special emergency 1936 issue (stamped in 1937) became public when collectors in 1940 finally spotted the tiny DOT.
The coin collecting books do not know the exact mintage of the 1936 Dot, but instead they use the word \"Included\", as to say that the Quantity of the DOT issue is hidden in the overall totals of the original 1936 issue quantity.
