Excellent Condition1940 Singer 128 Sewing Machine with Original Case and Accessories!!

The Singer Model128 were a series of lockstitch sewing machines produced by the Singer Manufacturing Company from the 1880s to the 1960s.They were Singer\'s first sewing machines to make use of \"vibrating shuttle\" technology. They are all steel and were built before the advent of planned obsolescence, and so they were designed to be repaired rather than replaced. Consequently many remain today, some in collections and others still in service. In company literature they were called \"the woman\'s faithful friend the world over\".

This sewing machine is in great shape. It does show signs of use, being almost 75 years old, but it really adds to the vintage look... but the best part, it still works!! And it is 100% original and authentic. This particular machine was made on April 2nd, 1940, and was limited to only 5000!!! Considering 75 years have passed you\'re not likely to see many of these much less many in this shape THAT STILL WORK! We have gone through and cleaned and oiled everything, checked the wiring, connections and moving parts. The sale includes the original extra\'s (seen in the pictures) and the knee crank to activate the electric motor. All of these fit nicely into their respective places inside the top cover (see the last picture) and are all original. I don\'t know anything about sewing machines so I could even begin to describe what some of these parts do, they look alien to me lol, but I\'ve added an up close picture to help you see what they are. If you would like additional pictures please let me know! I can tell you that all of them are stamped with the Singer logo so they are all original and don\'t look like they\'ve ever been used.

All the internals look excellent and move just as they should and the motor purrs like a kitten. The only thing needed (if you plan on using this for more than decoration) is a new belt as the original is worn and broken (but still included in this sale). This really is a thing of beauty and they sure don\'t make them like they used to!

The exterior painted portions do show wear as you can see in the pictures however the body shows no dents or scratches as it looks to be kept up very nicely by the previous owners. The wood case is in good shape as well but does show scuffs and scratches from 75 years of handing. I do not have the key for the lock but a simple flat head screwdriver unlocks it with a small twist.
