1940"s Exhibit Supply Co. ( Owl- What Do I Need To Be Happy ) 1 Cent Coin-op For Sale
This is a 1940"s Exhibit Supply Co. (1 Cent ) wooden coin-operated arcade game...It was such a popular design...wooden 1 cent game, Exhibit Supply , made the same machine but with different themes ..The principles on how all machines worked were the same..(Electro-Mechanical ) ...internal moving parts...This Owl ( whatdo I need to behappy )..seems to work as designed ..Insert a penny and the light selector , spins around clockwise , eventually starts to slow down and then stops, on a name...The lighted name stays lighted for about 10 seconds after it stops , then goes out...The top light would stay on..until you would unplug the game..so I installed a small inline rotatery switch...so the top light could be turned on and off without unplugging the machine...and then having to plug it back in..The theme was easily changed by just putting a new painted glass in the front.. There were two different coin type shoots , one like this one , where you pushed the lever in after inserting coin in slot.and then pulled coin slot out..to activate the timed rotating light circuit....The other was, a coin drop and then you squeezed a two lever hand grip device to start the rotation of the time lighted electro-mechanical wheel....Ihave anotherExhibit Supply wooden arcade game I will eventually restore to working condition that is called ( Fish )...This one I have up for sale has had some wooden areas repaired or replaced over time , but before I got it...I tried to take the pictures that would give a potential buyer..views of what I thought were important surfaces to give and idea of the overall physical appearance and condition.(.the two pictures I want to call attention to) are the ones of the glass painted surfaces of the owl heads and the glass paintedselection choices ...Where you see white is where the paint on the back surface of the glass has peeled and flaked off..In my opinion up close it is very noticeable...but from a short distance away especially when the game is operating . One does not really notice or pay attention to this wear and aging issue.I think this ( OwlWhat Do I Need To BeHappy ) displays very well...The last picture here you can see this arcade game on display on the lower shelf ..far right ..in one of the display cases here at the school"s museum,at our Technical Career Collegein New Orleans La...this is a sale...and the starting price is set low...If you have any questions ,please ask here through ask the seller a question....what you see , is what you will recieve if you are the winner...Thank You for stopping to view my sale.....If you decide to offer.......Good Luck........Nick
