ACorocraft crown design brooch by Adolph Katz, Patent No. 139100: dated, October 10, 1944. This particular crown brooch is embossed on the back with the following: Coro. DES. PAT. PENDING. This is an early example of the iconic Coro crown produced around the time when the patentwas applied for. Thecrown is set with red and green poured glass cabochons and blue, white andgreen rhinestones in a sterling mounting with a gold-tone finish.

Thiscrown brooch is from an estate in MS where the costume jewelry of twowomen was combined and left in a storage closet for decades. The younger ofthe two women was born in 1905 and passed away in the early 1980s.

Theapproximate dimensions: H: 1 ¾” x W: 1 7/8”

Condition:The mounting and its finish are in very good, vintage condition – no visiblewear or flaking. A number of rhinestones are missing and have to be replaced. All existing rhinestones and the cabochons are original to this brooch. This piece is being sold in As Iscondition. I do not restore or repair vintage costume jewelry.
