This sale is a City Plan of Kokura, Japan. This is a first edition, developed by the US Army Map Service in 1945 as part of the war effort as part of AMS L902. The map was printed in April 1946. A number of military installations, chemical plants, munitions storage areas and arsenals are shown. Kokura was spared an atomic attack because of clouds, when \"Bock\'s Car\" flew on to Nagasaki. The reverse of the map shows an Index to Administrative Units for Kokura. Also included are the catalog cards for the map, which gives detail on the map. The map is large, about 34\" x 30\" and the scale is about 1:12,500. It shows detail and has vivid colors.
