This is the AMI (Automatic Musical Instrument Co.) Model \"A\", also known as the \"Mother of Plastic\". Built in 1946, it was the first Jukebox to make extensive use of acrylic plastics and colored fluorescent lights. A very nice original to begin with, I took it apart, cleaned everything, dismantled the mechanism right down to the frame, and put it all back together to become one of the nicest orignal AMI \"A\"s I\'ve ever come across. It still has the original finish which is very presentable, and the original plastics are mint, with no fading, chiping, holes, or shrinkage. I did rebuild the amp to bring back the nice crisp tone, and upgraded the cartridge to a modern stylis and lighter tracking. Coin mechanism is complete and functioning, as well as the selection now playing wheel (works perfectly). Now for the bad. The bulb for the \"make selection\" light burned out, and as it is a 28Volt bulb, I haven\'t been able to find one locally. Also, the base metal has a little rust and stains from years of people mopping the floor and hitting it with the damp mop. Other than this, I\'m hard pressed to find anything major. Even the couple inches of missing veneer on the back door doesn\'t amount to much. Though the back door lock is missing (latches hold the back door closed anyways) the two front locks are original with original key, and even the original cloth coin bag is still present (very rare). All in all, a very beautiful machine, and highly prized by new and old collectors alike.Plays both sides of 20 Records for a total of 40 Selections, 16 more than the Wurlitzer 24 play mechanisms, and 20 more than either the Seeburg\'s or Rock-0la\'s. This is important if you have double sided hit records, either from the past, or the Rock and Roll Reproduction sets of today.I can crate this Jukebox for just the cost of materials, and will work with you and your shipper to get it to you in a timely manner. For local or State side delivery, you can always use the blanket wrap service of North American Van Lines, or whatever shipping company you want. I will help in any way I can. Though the Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, I understand that shipping costs have been increasing over the last couple of years, so have lowered my Opening offer price to compensate for this.As a last note, the original color cylinders are included, as is the original back door mirror. The color motors are originals and are working fine.
