Vintage 1950s MGM movie prop, a Roman soldier\'s long spear, called a \"hasta\", used in epic Roman themed movies such as \"Ben Hur\", and Quo Vadis\", the wood pole & metal shank measuring 88\" long overall, the shank or head 11-1/2\" x 4-1/4\", condition: as is, wear is commensurate with usage as a movie prop, sold as found, from the local Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, estate of a gentleman who purchased this item at the David Weisz Co. sale of MGM movie props in California in 1970, has been in storage in Michigan since 1970.
