This sale is for seven (four)coin Olympic sets from Canada starting in 1973 all coins are in GEM proof condition in their original sealed capsules

To celebrate and commemorate the Montreal 21st Olympiad 1976, Canada issued a series of silver coins (92.5%) in five and ten dollar denominations. The series ran from 1973 to 1976.

They were issued in fourteen different designs as pairs and proof versions. (7) 4-coin proof set. Each proof set contains two $5 coins and two $10 coins.

Coin # 1 $ - $10 The World, projects the universality of the Olympic Movement.

Coin # 2 - $5 North America, shows the continent highlighting Canada, the country where the Games of the XXI Olympiad will be held.

Coin #3 - $10 Montreal, depicts the skyline of Montreal, the host city to the Games of the XXI Olympiad

Coin # 4 - $5 Kingston, features sailboats and landmarks of Kingston, site of the yachting events.

These proof coins are made from specially selected sterling silver blanks, struck twice in the presses, producing a distinguishing \"wire effect\" on the edge and raising the design detail of the mirror finish coin with frosted images to the highest degree. To assure the absence of flaws or blemishes, the blanks and coins are meticulously handled with white gloves, through to final packaging.

All Olympic coins contain 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper alloy. The $5 coins are 38 mm in diameter, with a fine silver content of .723 troy ounces. The $10 coins are 45 mm in diameter with a fine silver content of 1.44 troy ounces.
