William Jefferson \"Bill\" Clinton(born William Jefferson Blythe III, August 19, 1946) served as the 42nd President of theUnited Statesfrom 1993 to 2001. Two years later, in 1996, Clinton was re-elected and became the firstmember of the Democratic Party since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second termas president. In 1998 he was impeached for perjury and obstructionof justice related to the Lewinsky scandal, but was subsequently acquitted bythe U.S. Senate by a largely partisan vote.

Clinton leftoffice with an approval rating at 66%, the highest end of office rating of anypresident since World War II. Since then, he has been involved in publicspeaking and humanitarian work. Clintoncreated the William J. Clinton Foundation to promote and address internationalcauses such as treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and global warming.
