This listing is for a 19th century Moroccan Berber engraved brass Quran box or case with silvered metal details. It measures 5 1/8 inches or 13cm high and is 6 3/4 inches or 17.1cm at its widest. It has a domed cover which is hinged at the back, and there are two loops on the side for hanging from a chain. The box is engraved brass with floral and foliate devices throughout and has raised silvered metal over the brass. Please see the photographs for more on the look of this fine piece.The condition is as follows; there is age appropriate variations to the patina, some denting to the edges of the pieces, the hinge is solid at the back.
