Tapestry in a large OVALantique ornate frame,
depicting beautiful courting scene with a lady & a young gentlemen, playing the mandolin.
The wool textured needlepoint isdone in variety of subdued colors, including wine - red / claret colored,
sky - blue, olive green, yellow, gray,olive - brown and is framed withit\'s appears to be original antique frame with glass.
The back is closed with carton fixed with nails.
In reviewing the pictures of this piece in the gallery it should be pointed out we have tried to show the effect
of different degrees.
The Tapestry dated most likely back to the circa late 19th Century - very early 1900\'s
Measurements approximately:
25 1/2\" x 19 5/8\" needlepoint inside of frame
26\" x 20\" back carton
30 1/8\" x 24 1/2\"frame Condition:
excellent for theage:needlepoint area is free of missing stitches or any visible damage.
The frame shows a few scratches/hairlines and probably couple of minor repairs in gesso, but very clean, hardly noticeable
in very close inspection, please, see photos.
Generally, very rare quality and condition for so old piece..
