Description:We arepleased to offer this unique, 19th C. Qing [Ching] Dynasty, Chinese,silk, embroidered, lady’s hat in blue-black. Characteristics include whimsical,cutout crafting; a blue and cream-hued lotus and butterfly motif throughout; beautifullyrendered silk satin stitch embroidery with Peking stitch accents; silk, cord edging;decorative, silk thread tassel (on left; right is missing); red, silk lining;and evidence of an export seal. Please note, this hat shows signs of wearcommensurate with age including silk breakdown (due to the use of an ironmordant within the dying process and due to creasing), bleeding, fading, andsoiling.
