Hello dear friends, up for sale is a rareantique circa late 19th century Imperial Russian orthodox traveling icon. Agorgeous small gem used by Russian Officers and come in Bulgaria during RussianTurkish war 1877-78. Similar small icons was very popular in this time and manyRussian Officers kept them close to there hearts during the war against Islamicarmy, to keep their fait in god. This one with Jesus Christ Pantocrator Iconicportrait, complete hand painted and overlay with silver casing (Oklad). TheOklad richly engraved by master silversmith, the Icon face hand painted on woodand lined with velvet on the back. Imperial Russian silver standard hallmarkingwith 84 Zolotnik mark and Moscow town mark of St. George on Horse. Also Masterinitials hallmark but hardly readable S.S. ? in Cyrillic .
