19th Century Bronze Sino Tibetan Manjushri Buddha:
$937.10

A fine precious Bronze Bodhisattva Manjushri that dates back to the 19th  Century. The deity sits on a semi circular open work throne of lotuses in Padmasana position, the so called Lotus position. In his right hand holding a sword which slices unknowingness and the veil of ignorance. In his left hand he is holding the book and trailing up his arm a Lotus stem the gesture of explanation. The Lotus ends at the shoulders, these attributes, sword and book, are symbols of wisdom.

The Manjushri is showing a mellow facial expression. He is wearing large elegant earrings and a fine open worked crown.

The usual traces of age and wear are evident with small scratches to the surface with no loss or damage to the Bronze. There is a small hole under one of the elbows that can\'t be seen unless turned upside down.

The figure stands 16in in height and is 14in in width and 8in in depth, the weight of the Manjushri Statue is 4.9kg.

The Statue comes from a private collection. I would be more than happy to answer any questions and send more Photos if needed. Thanks for looking.
