Here is anexquisite antique Crazy Work quilt with political and other period ribbons andsilks, all in a rare to find condition. The advertising silks include UnionDavidson Order of Railway Conduction Committee dated 1887, Grover Cleveland andAlan G. Truman Presidential silk, Butlers and West political silk, Elks Silk,ORC do it now or do it never political silk, American Flag silks, four AmericanFlags, frog silks, and more. There is heavy hand embroidery throughout thisextraordinary quilt to include Flowers, Butterflies, Birds, a Steeplechaser, aperambulator, and many more. There are initials, lace with sewn embellishmentsunderneath, and all manner of fancy embroidery stitches surround the colorfulpatches. There is wear to some of the silks, but overall the condition is verygood with incredible amounts of detail, and embroidery. There is a beautifulvelvet border on all sides. There is a hanging pocket added to the black silkbacking. The measurements are approx. 66 x 82.
