Here is a beautiful and old violin in a very good condition.

Printed inside the back of the instrument:

Antonius Stradiuvarius Cremonenfis Faciebat anno 17 folowed by circled AS with cross.

The size is: length of the back is 361 mm, the whole length is 595 mm.

It islikely a very fine and niceimitation of the great violin master Stradivarius since the name is printed with an extra letter. The sound is clear and powerful. It stands out. The varnish is original and has a beautiful patina.

There is one repaired crack, done in january 1963 by Anton Wilfer in Montreal, and there areminor scratches on the face of the violin.

History of the Violin is tracable up to1870-1900. Bought during that period by Auguste Rochefort (1845-1927). He was a pilot on the St-Laurence River based in Tadousac. He purchased it from an immigrant. Initial AR are writen in the Violin under crest of A.S. The Violin passed on to Mrs. Ernest Templier who sold it to J.A. Valiquette (1930\'s) for his grand son Roger Huot. It was then past to Theodule Huot until his death in 2012.
