Afghan or Persian from the Ottoman period. Probably for a bridal costume for spices in one compartment and a pomander in the other. A beautiful antique and hugely collectible item. Comes from an Irish collector estate sale.Measure 1 1/2 inches (just the compartment not bale or bells)
