\"The Hobbit\" by J.R.R. Tolkien (1973, Hardcover) Collector\'s Edition. This deluxe collector\'s edition is in green leatherette with gold and red foil rune stamping on the the spine and cover. The text pages are printed in black with green accents. It includes full page illustrations in full color and many more in two color, in addition to Thror\'s map - all illustrations by Tolkien. This is the stated 1st Printing, with the rune error on the front cover. The first printing of HM\'s Collector\'s Edition, which may be the most popular edition in the US. The first impression is very difficult to come by, especially one in this condition. A highly collectible book and great for someone just starting their Tolkien collection. The book and slipcase look new. It\'s hard to tell, but I think the red foil on the spine of the book is fading. There are also small nick marks to some of the corners of the slipcase. I have tried to get a picture of these things for your reference. Everything else looks perfect to me and the pages are clear and bright with no markings. However, I am not a book expert, so please use your own judgment and I\'ll be happy to provide more photos or answer any questions, so don\'t hesitate to contact me.
