The maroon/brown colored book has a colorful and gold-trimmed star on the front. It is titled \"Manual of the Eastern Star.\" It was presented to Christiana Winpenny by William J (or G) Millard, Jr. in 1866. It has about 75 pages with gold edges. It contains \"Symbols, Scriptual Illustrations, Lectures, etc.\" It was published by the \"New York Masonic Publishing and Manufacturing Company 430 Broome Street, Chicago: - J.C.W. Bailey, 1866.\"

The second book, \"Ritual of the Eastern Star,\" has a dark blue cover with a gold crest on the front.   It has an embossed symbol on the inside cover page from the \"Progress Chapter No. 235 O.E.S., Philadelphia, PA.\" Dated: Chicago, Illinois FOURTH EDITION as Amended, July 1919, February, 1921, Copyright, 1890. 136 pages.

These books are in good to very good, mostly clean condition with moderate/normal cover wear, minor binder issues on the older book, and a little light soil inside and out. I didn\'t notice any missing pages, writing, or significant stains, and there are no signs of excessive use. From a smoke-free home.
