For sale are two (2) Old Church Slavonic handwritten manuscript sheets or leaves. These two handwritten leaves (with four pages of text) come from an Old Church Slavonic handwritten manuscript book, dated to the early18th century, on heavy laid paper. Size of each sheet is about 7 in. x 10 in. Very beautiful calligraphic writing in the Cyrillic alphabet of the Old Church Slavonic language in black ink with red rubrication.These manuscript leaves arevery beautiful. On these two manuscript leaves, there are eight (8) large handwritten red initials, as well as twenty-six (26) red words (see the scanned images). Also, on these twomanuscript leaves, there are many instances of the NOMINA SACRA or Sacred Names: \"Jesus\"; \"Christ\"; the phrase \"The Gospel of Mark\"; two (2) instances of \"God\"; two (2) instances of \"Savior\"; and (2) instances of \"Spirit.\" Very beautiful leaves. These leaves have stains and discoloration on thesheets, due to their age and liturgical use over the centuries.
