Antique 20-30\'s Silk Brocade
FABRIC: NOTE: I originally described this fabric as old silk brocade but now I think it is more accurately and old rayon brocade. The deterioration that was in the center area that I cut off made me think that it was silk, along with the way it feels. I\'ve done a burn test with no positive results, so it is either silk or rayon....best I can tell you. Here are 2 long pcs that were cut from a large piece of fabric that had deteriorated down the center fold.
This is a medium weight gorgeous matte satin silk or rayon brocade with a slight bit of texture due to the brocade pattern.
I have shown both sides as each is as lovely as they other.
The color is hard to photograph. It is a pinkish-beige (darker on one side than the other) with accents of antique gold, silver and bronze.
SIZE: Each piece is 22\" wide x 2 yards in length...total 4 yds x 22\"
CONDITION: Good condition for it\'s age. I would suggest before using that the fabric be reinforced with an iron on interfacing.
There are a couple small places along the selvedge that have tears ...see last pic. Otherwise i do not see any other flaws to note.
I may have missed a teeny hole or light spot somewhere though..
