DESCRIPTION:
We are pleased to offer you this lovely antique German DOLLY FACE girl doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"Armand Marseille, Germany, 390, A 4 M\".Reference attributes to 1910+ Germany by Armand Marseille doll maker. This doll is a bisque socket head onwooden composition jointed body.Body shows some re-paint, paint loss, scuffs, lots of line crazing lines, and overall wear for being 100 or so years old but together intact, see photos. She is missing the thumb on her right hand and is missing the little finger on her left hand. Despite her overall wear doll displays well sitting or with a doll stand. She has a \"sweet\" dolly facewithopen and closeblueglass sleepy eyes that work fine, painted lashes around the eyes, feathered light brown brows, she has open mouth with upper teeth intact, a faint little dimple in her chin,lovely rose color blush on her face. Tiny paint rub on the left cheek. Inside the head is plaster cement that was used to secure the sleepy eyes on rocker as most doll people do, I flashed inside and do not see any cracks, there is old glue residue around the top areas of the head. I notice a small split on the rim of head, see photo. Her long auburn brunette wig is a vintage replacement, a little large but charming, it is glued on a pate and slips nicely over her head. She wears a hand made embroidery print floral dress that has button snaps down the back, it is clean and in nice condition. There are pantaloons, old worn stockings and shoes.
