This sale offers you 200+ Vintage Cloisonne 9x7mm Oval Eggs—Navy with Pink and Green Floral Accent Colors. They are trimmed in gold.Beads are old stock and have been in storage for many years. All in unused excellent condition.

These beads are the OLD style Cloisonné—which, like many older things—BETTER!They are good heavy duty beads with thick enamel decorations. The decoration isformed by first adding compartments (cloisons in French, hence the name.) to themetal object by soldering or adhering silver or gold wires or thin stripsplaced on their edges. These remain visible in the finished piece, separatingthe different compartments of the enamel or inlays, which are often of severalcolors. Cloisonné enamel objects are worked on with enamel powder made into apaste, which then needs to be fired in a kiln. After that the whole bead isbuffed to a uniform smooth surface finish.Each bead was hand done and each is a little unique and a piece of art.If you go on You Tube and see how they do it you will see that it is timeconsuming. New Cloisonné is not the same—they solder some wire and paint in thedecoration. This is Mint new OLD stock just out of decades of storage—neverused!
