Background

Goebelfine porcelain figurines have been produced in Germany since the company wasfounded in 1871. In 1935, the companyobtained exclusive rights to produce Hummel figurines designed by Sister MariaInnocentia Hummel, which continued until 2008.Sister Hummel designed the first Apple Tree Boy & Apple Tree Girlfigurines, which are generally considered favorites by collectors. The Goebel/Disney partnership began in 1951, whenWalt Disney authorized Goebel to produce porcelain figurines of Bambi.

AppleTree Mickey was released in 2001 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of theGoebel/Disney partnership (50 years of Disney Magic 1951-2001). The figurine honors Sister Hummel’s designand, of course, Walt Disney’s famous mouse.Production was limited to only 1,000 numbered pieces.

Dimensions: 4” tall x 2-1/2” wide across the ‘treebranches’. The oval base is 2” x 1-3/4”
