This sale is for a special SML coin released by the RCM in 2013 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the silver maple leaf coin (started in 1988). This coin has a unique maple leaf design and it is also much thicker than normal. Instead of the normal 3.0 mm thickness it is 3.8 mm thickness (FYI: the 2010 piedfort coin was 4.0 mm). The coin is of course a $5 face value and is minted to the standard of 99.99% purity!! There is selective gold plating on the reverse of the coin.This coin weigh 31.39 grams (one troy ounce) and is 34 mm in diameter (4 mm less than normal SML diameter). The obverse has the proof finish relief image of the Queen (by Susanna Blunt) against a mirror background. It comes encapsulated and set into its case and comes with all original packaging and certificate of authenticity just as it came from the mint. Low mintage of only 9,981.
