The Head Caddy is the little brother (84mm waist vs 90mm waist) to the Oblivion, which absolutely blew our testers minds when they skied on it last spring during dealer demo days! What looks like a pretty straight forward, simple park ski, is actually a very innovative package that absolutely rips as an all mountain ski! Almost any skier from fairly novice, to super advanced ripper can jump on The Caddy or Oblivion and have a blast, these skis truly work for pretty much everyone! The secret to this greatness is Head\'s new feature they call ISS, or Independent Suspension System. ISS is a rubber layer laminated into the ski under the top sheet that runs the full length of the cambered part of the ski, this dampens vibration in the ski considerably, which not only gives it tenacious edge grip in a super pipe, but also makes it super stable going fast and gives it that same edge hold when railing turns on groomers. The rocker/camber combo here with about 30% of the ski rockered at the ends and camber in the middle makes it initiate turns super easily, helps it feel very catch free in the terrain park, and really helps the slightly narrower (but not that narrow) 84mm waisted ski perform really well in crud, bumpy stuff, and not real deep powder. Everyone we talk to who has skied these new twin tips from Head just can\'t stop raving about how awesome they ski, it\'s not that often that a ski comes along that everyone likes.

Head dove head first into the world of freestyle skiing last year by signing multiple X Games gold medalist and skiing superpipe legend, Simon Dumont. With skiing superpipe in the upcoming winter Olympics, Simon wanted to make sure he would have the best possible chance of winning gold, and this meant getting on the equipment that he felt was the best available, so he got connected with Head. There\'s a reason why so many of skiing\'s top athletes ski on Head skis, and it\'s not because Head pays them a lot. These people make a living by winning and they want to be on the equipment that will give them the best chance of doing that. PNP (Park \'N\' Pipe) Rocker Technology – The most versatile rocker profile in the line, PNP rocker has rocker in 30% of the ski in the tip and tail and camber through the rest. This means you get the increased off trail performance, better float and easier turn initiation of rocker, but camber under foot maintains power and edge hold.
Tuffwall Construction – Head’s new twin tip specific sandwich construction made to increase the durability of the ski. A typical sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top meets the sidewall that is very prone to damage; Tuffwall rolls the top material onto the sidewall into the sidewall to reduce the angle that is prone to abuse.
Wood core with ABS sidewalls– Wood core with ABS sidewalls gives the ski a smooth, solid feel with lots of energy rebound. Head uses different types of wood to achieve different characteristics, dense, solid wood gives the ski extra strength and stability. Sidewall construction puts more mass over the edges for maximum edge hold.
Independent Suspension System – So simple, yet so incredibly effective! A rubber layer laminated into the ski under the top sheet that runs the full length of the cambered part of the ski, this dampens vibration in the ski considerably, which not only give it tenacious edge grip in a super pipe, but also makes it super stable going fast and gives it that same edge hold when railing turns on Value - This ski is hands down, the best skiing ski at its price point. Whether you\'re a park and pipe skier, or an all mountain skier, this ski will not disappoint. It really should not ski as amazingly as it does for what it costs!

We have this ski matched up here with the Atomic FFG 12 binding made by Salomon. The FFG 12 is upgraded for 2013 with a new, wider, heavier duty toe piece, the new toe piece makes this a legitimate high performance binding for aggressive lady skiers! The FFG series are exactly the same as the Salomon Z series, with different paint and different names (Atomic and Salomon are owned by the same parent company). Wide Toe Design – Salomon pioneered this toe design years ago, the wide “wings” on the toe piece wrap around the toe of the boot giving the skier more leverage and better edge response on wider skis. This is the same design philosophy of Marker’s revolutionary Royale series (Jester, Griffon, Duke, ect.) bindings.
Low stand height – Keeps you center of gravity low to the ski.
Metal component construction is very light, but also very strong, and super durable for many days of use by even the most aggressive skiers. The link between boot and ski is very tight.
This binding has a DIN range of 3.5 to 12, and will work for any skier with a DIN setting of 4.5 or higher. That is most adult skiers.
