This is original Wow Rare Civil War Navy Rifle M1861 Dahlgren Bayonet Ames Knife Military. This weighs about 2 lb 10 OZ. Nice heavy Navy Bayonet Marked U.S.N. DR 1863 and the reverse has AMES MFG Co. CHICOPEE MASS. This will need a good Cleaning as we have not cleaned it. There is what looks to be DR on the end of the pommel. The locking button is working all the way. I don’t see any heavy pitting here all surface corrosion. This should look very nice cleaned up. There are a couple dings to the edge of the blade but no what I would call nicks. The blade is just about 12, 1/8 inches. The overall is just short of 17 inches. The scabbard has cracking but is still solid. I have had this since the 1980s. We are starting to sort and refocus our military collection so we will be putting up some gems over the next few weeks. This is a nice overall piece. This has not been cleaned so should look nicer cleaned up. This has age, tarnish and use. This is showing honest age. Please see photos for ID and condition. What you see is what you will receive.
