First off disregard any yellow or pink line running through the photos above as it is just from my scanner.

There are a total of 225+ vintage pieces of ephemera in this lot. Way too many items for me to describe separately. The pieces range in date from the mid 1800’s to the mid 1900’s. But in a nut shell some of the pieces are as follows…..

A handwritten guest book from the 1930\'s, several early 1900\'s photos, more postcards, New York World\'s Fair fold-out postcard souvenir, dance cards, Victorian valentine, college brochures, wedding announcements, newspaper clippings, handwritten documents, and more. Three of the tubes you see are those early 1900’s panoramic postcards with the postcards inside. I believe the postcards are of Germany. I only unrolled one and scanned as much of it as I could but it’s so big the whole thing wouldn’t fit on my scanner. There are handwritten letters, photos, a dr. journal with just a few entries, a book about Shirley Temple and on the inside it says, “To Adrianna From Shirley” but I have no idea if it is Shirley Temples actually signature. Then a Zion’s Day Star newspaper from 1883, some larger photos that actually might be movie stills, Octagon soap wrappers, 1927 Brunswick Records catalogue, directories and so much more. Please ask any questions before offerding as this is a buy as is sale. No returns. A great group for any collector or for.

There are several handwritten diaries in this lot. One is an 1893 diary full of handwritten entries but I have not read it. There is no cover and the binding is spilt. June 6th through the 12 (only six pages) have a burn mark on them. Not even sure where this man is from. Then there is a 1946 diary also full of writing but some just a line or two, some full paragraphs. This one is in good shape. Then the two civil war era diaries but they are more or less expense ledgers and notes, not diary entries. They are from 1862-1864 or thereabouts. Covers are in poor shape. They are from Wyoming Co. New York. Both are full and between them have about 200 handwritten pages. Then one diary from the 1940’s and it’s a five year diary that’s about ¾ full of entries.

Then another interesting thing in this group are 12 cards that represent a revival service that took place June 15th to July 15th, of 1916 in the town of Ossining New York. Now Ossining is not printed on the front of these cards but “Linden Ave” and “Croton Ave” is and both are located in Ossining New York so that’s where I “think” the revival is taking place. It looks like Ernest S. Williams is the main evangelist who is speaking at this revival which they call, “The Tent.”

Ernest S. Williams served as general superintendent of the Assemblies of God from 1929-49. He experienced the baptism in the Holy Spirit at the Azusa Street Mission, site of the early 20th-century revival that was foundational to the formation of the Assemblies of God. He served as pastor of Highway Tabernacle in Philadelphia before his election as general superintendent. Following his retirement, Williams continued to write for The Pentecostal Evangel, and was perhaps best known for his regular column that answered readers’ theological questions. The photo above showing a group of people in the “gospel car” has Ernest sitting second from the left. This is just one I scanned off of the web.

The great thing about these 12 cards is that there are handwritten notes on the back of 11 of them. Those notes are mostly who was speaking, the dates and time they were speaking, what topic they were speaking on and scripture verses. Then a few of them have song verses on them. Each card measures about 3” x 5” and they are in good shape.

So much more than what I’ve described here. This is a buy as is sale with no returns so please keep that in mind as the conditions range from very good for most pieces and some in poor shape.
