DESCRIPTION:
This listing is for a \"gorgeous\" 24\" tall German Schoenau & Hoffmeister doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"Germany, star symbol S PB inside the star, H, 1906, 9\". Reference attributes to Schoenau & Hoffmeister, 1901+ Sonneberg Germany. This is a bisque socket head on jointed composition and wood body. Body shows wear, scuffs, re-paint, but all intact for being 100 years old. She is strung fine and displays well sitting or standing. Body is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees with all fingers and toes. I do notice she has had repair on a few fingers, intact with repair. This doll has a beautiful face with \"fixed\" stay open brown glass eyes, she has thick mohair eye lashes, painted lashes around her eyes, brush stroke molded brown eye brows, open mouth with upper teeth and lovely blush on her near perfect Dolly Face. There is a faint little dimple in her chin. Her brunette mohair wig is secure on the head. I flashed under and around the wig and do not see any cracks or hairlines. She wears a charming antique off white dress with embroidery accents that snaps down the back. Unfortunately age has caused a little \"melting\" throughout and discoloration of the dress, there is a pink ribbon tie. She wears pantaloons, stockings and shoes.
