DESCRIPTION:

This listing is for a lovely antique German DOLLY FACE doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"Made in Germany, Armand Marseille, DRGM 246/1, 390 n, A 9 M\". Reference tells me 1910 Germany by Armand Marseille., \"n\" is known as \"dolly face\" mold. This doll is a bisque socket head on wooden composition jointed body that is strung fine being jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees with all fingers intact. Doll displays well sitting or standing with a doll stand. Fingers show paint touch up, a little lighter and dark colors, possibly finger restoration was done, all together intact, I do not know her past history, see photos. Fingers and toes accented with red lines for that realistic look. Doll Measures 26\" tall. Body shows over all wear, scuffs, paint touch up for being 100 or so years old, possibly a little body restoration around the neck area, and arms,fingers, I see a little re-paint on those areas. The upper arms are each incised \"62\". She has a \"sweet\" dolly face with high quality creamy bisque, fixed open blue glass eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, brush stroked brown brows, she has open mouth with upper teeth intact, a faint little dimple in her chin. I flashed inside the head and do not see any cracks or hairlines, there is plaster cement inside that was too secure the eyes remain open all the time. Her charming auburn with with curls has hairnet over it, slips nicely over a pate on her head. This is a lovely replacement wig. Charming floral print dress is clean and lovely and snaps down the back, there is attached apron, she wears pantaloons, stockings and older shoes. I have taken plenty of photos.
