DESCRIPTION:
Iam pleased to offer you this lovely \"large size\" antique bisque head German doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is the ABG symbol and \"1362 Made in Germany, 4-1/2, 14 down below the neckline\". Reference attributes 1910 Germany, by Alt Beck & Gottschalck. Mold \"1362\" is known as \"Sweet Nell\". \"Nell\" measures 28\" tall being a bisque socket head on wooden composition jointed body. Doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees with all fingers intact, strung fine. Fingers and toes accents with red accents for that \"life-like\" appearance. Body shows overall wear, some scuffs, composition lifting,for being 100 or so years old but nothing terrible. I believe a \"crier\" or speaker of some sort in this doll at one time, there is a cut-out circle on the upper back with screen cover, the front shows a drawn area covering the stomach area, possibly restoration was started but not finished, I do not know the past restoration history. She has a \"sweet\" face with high quality creamy bisque, open and close brown glass sleepy eyes that work fine, retains most wax on the eye lids, feathered brown brows, has upper teeth with molded tongue. Very tiny paint rub on left cheek, rosy high color blush on her \"near perfect\" face. She has pierced ears and wears red drop earrings. Looking at the bisque head I flashed inside and I do not see any cracks or hairlines, there is plaster cement inside that inside that was used to secure the sleepy eyes on rocker as most doll people do. Her long brunette \"human hair\" wig with bangs slips over a pate on her head, a charming replacement wig. \"Nell\" wears a lovely vintage pink dress with lace trim, with matching tie belt, it is clean and fits well. She wears a full slip, half slip, stockings and shoes. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description.
