In most cases the pieces offered for sale on are from the business inventory (the business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years). Our inventory is extremely large, so the majority of the pieces we are putting on have never been displayed in any of our retail locations. Occasionally, we are also selling pieces from our personal collection. The art and collectibles that we are offering to buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully “curated” by us.
This hard to find Gerald Henn collector\'s piece from 1996 is very cute! This old fashioned wood pull toy is the \"14th in the Annual Toy Series\". According to the special label, this was \"Handcrafted by THE WORKSHOPS of Gerald E. Henn\". The maker\'s mark stamped on the bottom reads --- WORKSHOPS OF GERALD E. HENN WARREN OHIO\".
These adorable crackle finish chicks roll around on a rectangular wood base (also with a crackle finish) on four wheels --- pulled with a long leather / suede \"cord\". Everything has a painted finish except for the wheels (and axles).
This is another fabulous legacy and heirloom quality collector\'s item from the Henn Workshops. The vintage look on this exceptional piece of American folk art from Ohio makes it a good addition to a collection of vintage or contemporary American folk art. If you collect chickens, chicks, farm animals, pull toys, or just the Henn pull toy series, this charming trio is ready for you!
It looks new, but we have listed it as used. There are just a couple of spots (mainly on the edges of the rectangular base) where we could find little marks that could be described as rubs or scratches (and they are so small that it is possible they have been there since it was made).
Approximate overall dimensions of the toy: 10 1/8\" x 7 1/8\" x 5\" tall.Each chick is under 4 3/4\" tall; the rectangular base is 10 1/8\' x 5 3/8\" x 3/4\". Each of the four wood wheels is about 2\" in diameter.
This is a very hard to find collectible wood pull toy. We have decided to sell several of our Gerald Henn pieces. Another wood pull toy, Henrietta the hen, will be listed soon!
