Description
These three bunnies are in excellent vintage condition - they have no chips, cracks or breaks. They have a tiny little bit of color - probably not much more originally! They have a slightly roughened texture, probably from when they were made. This type of decoration was very popular in the 1940\'s, during and right after WWII, as there was a lack of raw materials. This type of decoration was made from liquid Plaster of Paris poured into molds, sometimes with wire in the middle on larger pieces to give them strength. It was harder to do than it sounds... during the early 1950\'s craft stores sold molds and you could make your own. I tried and tried, but always came up with big bubbles in the surface of mine! The decorations were sold very cheaply - usually about 5 cents each, in five and dime and other stores. The smaller bunnies are 3 1/4", while the larger one is 4 1/2".
