33 Vintage Army Letters Lot Germany APO 164 Hoddy Mahon Photo Vintage Old #3622:

An original lot of 33 Militia letters including the cover postmarked 1955. These letters were written by Private Hoddy Mahon while he was over in Germany. The letters was sent home to his girlfriend in Newark NJ.

Private Hoddy Mahons letters are very interesting and are on many military subjects..... Below I just picked a few random letters to list some excerpts from:

Excerpt: ....Again there is no exciting news to speak of. Yesterday \" the Kr**ts\" received their sovereigntyso we are not allowed to take a pass. I guess they thought there might be a celebration & drunk etc. which might lead to a fight.....They told us at noon that the guys that police around the mess hall didn\'t do a good job in the morning so we would have to crawlthroughon our hands & kneesat noonto clean it up. Actually it was not our section.......While we were crawling one of the sargents told us to dig our toes into the ground where they had just planted grass. We id & we left big grooves in the ground. Before a halfhour all the brass in theBattalion knewabout it & the whole section had to go up & plant new grass. The colonel of the Battalion called the Sargents over & chewed their asses off.......some of the troops went out into the field on a three day field problem......we have to sleep in pup tents.......There are no queers in my barracks. Usually you find a few guys that are a but feminine in a barracks but there aren\'t any in barracks. By feminine I don\'t necessarily mean queer, I could also mean sissyish (is such a word)
