offerjar rugs and carpets have long had a mystique that makes them a \"man\'s rug\". Called the Iron rug of Persia they have an odd feature that few other rugs can match. The densely packed pile is so tight that the pile cannot lay down. Because the fibers are constantly erect when you step on the rug it has a cushioned feel that makes it great to walk upon. Bijar rugs are mainly woven by Kurds in Gerus and Afsha areas of Iran. These rugs are unique in that they use two wefts making the carpet extremely heavy, stiff and durable. A thicker weft is beaten down tightly between rows of knots alongside a thinner weft in order to make the pile compact, so thick and dense that it stands vertically, preventing it from lying down.

PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES-THEY ARE IMPORTANT PART OF THE DESCRIPTIONAll our antique rugs are good for the age, and some MAY not be a perfect rectangle, and some may have color variations (abrash)WE TRY TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE RUGS AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLEHOWEVER, COLORS MAY VARY DUE TO PHOTOGRAPHY AND DIFFERENCES IN MONITOR SETTINGSEvery hand knotted rug has \"light\" and \"dark\" side. The color difference is due to how you view the rug\'s nap. Depending on whether you look into the nap or with the nap, the rug will look lighter or darker and the color intensity you see from one end of the rug may be different from what you see on the opposite end. This phenomenon is a result of the weaving process. As each knot is hand-tied and pulled down, a directional is created in the pile, with the nap fibers always pointing toward the bottom of the rug as it hangs in the loom. Once you have your rug in your home, examine it closely from both ends, as you may wish to turn it 180-degrees to ensure the best possible effect for the room it is inIF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR PURCHASE PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE LEAVING A response.YOUR BUSINESS IS APPRECIATED AND YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR TOP PRIORITY.
