48\" wide beautiful antique oak church pew;100 years old/Pleasant Plains, Il.:
$500.00

This offering is for thebeautiful antique oak church pew with nice dark patinapictured; it came from the Pleasant Plains Church of Christ, Pleasant Plains, Illinois (population was 777 in 2000 census). It is 48\" wide; the end panels are 35 1/2 \" high and it will extend out the the wall a total of 24 inches. There is a slight tapering end on each end of the pew; the front outside dimension is 44\" and the actual seat opening width is 40\". The church building in Pleasant Plains was built in 1874 but I do not think the pews were put in at that time...I would date them at 100 years of age so I think they were replacements to the original seating in the auditorium.....probably more ornate than the original pews. It has not been stripped or refinished but a coat of Old English has been applied to help bring out the nice graining of the wood and help hide the scratches to the finish from 100 years or so of usage. At some time during their use, the seats of the pew were covered with padded upholstery. You can see places at the bottom of the seat back all along the seat where there are small places where the staples and small screws were used to attach the upholstery. I have included a picture showing how the small holes have been filled with walnut wood filler. The pew is very sturdy and very nice looking! It would would be a wonderful addition to a home or office setting that features antique furnishings. This pew is the last one of a lot of 20 we originally purchased; when it is gone, the opportunity to own one like it will be gone!
The pew may be picked up at my home in Cedarville, Ohio.I also use a blanket shipper who will deliver the pew to most locations east of the Mississippi as well as to some areas of Texas and Oklahoma. They do not deliver to the far northEastern states nor to some of the major metropolitan areas of the east such as Long Island and Washington, DC. Your cost for delivery to areas they service is a very modest $175 that I will bill you for when I send the invoice for payment to the successful buyer. I cannot guarantee a delivery time for their service to you....but, you may assume it will take 3-6 weeks as they only come to my area once every 2-3 weeks to pick up pews I have sold.Another shipping option is to use Greyhound Package Express. I can use their service to ship to a Greyhound terminal near you for a fee of $225-$295. You would need to pick up the pew at the Greyhound terminal as they do not provide delivery to your location. Their insurance coverage amount is limited to $300 per item so I advise you to contact your homeowners insurance agent to get inland marine coverage on the shipment added to your policy. You may need to pay a small fee to have this coverage added.I can also ship by using a cross country freight line to any location in the lower 48 states. I would need your exact address to get a quote for this method of shipping. The pew would arrive to you wrapped in shrink wrap and on a pallet.
Of course, you are free to make your own arrangements for shipping if you live in locations that are not serviced by my blanket shipper. I am willing to assist you with any arrangements you make on your own for transportation and pick up.
Payment is by PayPal and is expected within 24 hours of purchase. Ohio buyers will pay state sales taxFeel free to email me with questions or you may reach me by phone at [phone removed by ]
