Up for sale we have 5 great examples of early dug clay pipes !! These pipes were dump dug in England or as the English call them \"tips\" many years ago. I am not an expert on these old clay pipes but I do believe the pipes date to the 17 th. and 18 th. century ! The very small red colored clay pipe may be even older !! Back in the day when Tobacco was first becoming popular among the masses , Tobacco was very expensive, hence the small size of the early pipe bowls !! As time went on Tobacco became less expensive and the clay pipe bowls became larger.These pipe bowls are in very good condition considering their age !! Indeed a nice addition to your colonial artifact collection !!
