I have listed a collection of Carte de Visite,tintypes, and daguerrotypes,over 600 photographs, 9 albums,most of the albums are in poor conditio for the covers and spines,two are in very good condition,the photos are all in decent condition. Many major historical figures,including union general officers,political and religious leaders,and prominent scientists and authors. The collection was compiled by the wife of the american consul to England during the civil war. Brigadier General G.J. Abbot,there are many Union generals,US (1st yankee general officer killed at Bull Run) W.R. Morgan (the union general that lost a horse herd to confederate raiders,the movie Alvarez Kelly was based on this incident)and others. Political figures of prominence include Lincoln,Seward,Queen Victoria,Prince Frederick William of germany. Culturally significant figures include Edgar Allen Poe, Longfellow,Emily Dickinson,Albert Vickers,and the Wedding photo of Tom Thumb (world famous midget) many doctors and professors,Gordon who explored burma. There is also an album of landmarks and buildings,mostly albumen photographs. British photos include crewmembers and surgeon of the Eclipse,Robert Gordon,explorer of the Irrawaddy, Albert Vickers,many Episcopelean Clergy,Arch Bishops and Bishops. Admiral Wilkes,who instigated the ABC incident in 1861,which came close too involving England in the civil war is in the mix. This collection is of very significant historical value. I will include the trunk these came in,It is marked G.J. Abbot U.S. Consul,Sheffield,Many of these have the tax stamps on back,I have no idea what value the stamps alone could have.I have no way to take photos of every single CDV and photo,but I will try to impart the scope of this collection through the 12 photos I can put up for this listing.

I continue to identify famous people in the collection,Professor Louis Agassiz,opponent to darwin,and world famous paleantologist,Dr.Coolidge surgeon general of the army and inventor of the Coolidge ambulance Cart,Dr,Josiah Bartlett famous abolitionist and proponent of the Unions Negro Corps,Captain Henry Maynadier fabricated and commanded the Mortar boats that took Island No.10 allowing the Union taking control of the Mississippee river, Union Major general steele later congressman,F.V. Vaughn and Harry Humphreys famous baloonists and cartographers backbone of Lowes baloon corps,there are probably many more famous people,I just dont have the time too research all of the names
