7-Pc Lot -- TELECOMICS Original Art Lot for Early TV Program Featuring RICK RACK:

Along with \"Crusader Rabbit,\" Telecomics was the first animated series expressly made for television, running from 1949-1951. Cartoons were not really animated, but showed still pictures with voice-overs.

Lot consists of three 9-5/8 x 11.5\" stiff art pages with India ink/watercolor art showing Rick Rack, Special Agent, one with his sidekick. Each comes with matching layout sheets done in pencil.

Also comes with 8.25 x 9.5\" cut-out watercolor/ink image of Rick Rack with matching red pencil layout sheet.

Rick Rack was a Dick Tracy/Jim Hardy-inspired character. Dick Moores, noted for his art on the Jim Hardy comic strip, was designer and co-producer of the Telecomic series. He was also an assistant to Chester Gould on Dick Tracy. Nice lot for this little known TV series. Condition: All pieces have scattered moderate margin wear along tops, mostly to the layout sheets. Layout sheets also have some moisture staining along tops. Paintings themselves remain VF/Exc. overall. PLEASE WAIT TO RECEIVE AN INVOICE BEFORE SENDING PAYMENT!
