I\'ve never seen another pair of speakers that had such an iconic space age style!
Made by Empire Scientific out of New York. They were first introduced to the world in 1973. PR billed their unique shape as part of a revolutionary sound design that shaped your sonic experience like no other!
These have both been tested and seem to work fine! I\'m not an audiophile but when hooked up to a stereo they sounded clean and true to my ears with no distortion or sign of a busted cone.
Exterior condition is excellent as well with some minimal age wear. The exteriors seems to be made of a hard fiberglass. They were originally designed to be used both indoor and out. Their large size lets them double as side tables if you so desire!
Here\'s all detractions I noticed, no mater how minor.

Speaker 1 has a missing bottom grill for the lower speaker. Upper speaker has complete grill.
Speaker 2 has a missing bottom grill for the lower speaker. Upper speaker grill has tears as seen in close up photo. Seems like a simple fix would be to get some new grills and simply glue them in.
There\'s is some light scuffs and scratches to both speakers, nothing huge or noticeable. There is one area on the tulip base of speaker 2 that has a few scratches. I\'ve included a close up of this area in the photos.
Speaker 1 has a small 1/4 inch diameter loss of exterior fiberglass toward the back side. You can\'t see it when the speaker is turned to the front and could most likely be covered up with white paint if you so desire.
The base on speaker 1 is a touch loose, letting the top cylinder move. Again, this isn\'t something you notice when the speaker is sitting. It\'s likely a bolt that could be tightened.
Speaker 1 is missing the stereo wire screws that attach to where the wire goes. Again, a simple fix. See photo for detail.

Overall they are in great shape and will make your friends green with envy when they see them blasting out the funk in your space age pad. You need these!
Each speaker is approx 25 inches high and 16 inches in diameter. Each weighs approx 30 pounds. SHIPPING (PLEASE READ) Because of their size and for safety I need to send the speakers in 2 separate boxes. The price you see is for shipping one speaker.
