Description

A WONDERFUL LATE 18TH OR EARLY 19TH CENTURY TIN HEARTH-SIDE REFLECTOR ROASTING OVEN, NEW ENGLAND, CIRCA 1780-1820.

THESE EARLY TIN REFLECTOR OVENS WERE PLACED IN AND NEAR THE HEARTH. MEAT AND FOWL WAS COOKED WITHIN AND THE SHAPE REFLECTED THE HEAT THROUGHOUT.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC ORIGINAL PIECE, ALL COMPLETE AND IN THE BEST ORIGINAL CONDITION AND SURFACE.

THIS RARE PIECE STILL HAS ITS WROUGHT IRON HANDLED SKEWER. IT ALSO HAS A RARE CLOCK CUT SIDE TO ROTATE AND HOLD THE SKEWER.

GREAT EARLY FORM.
THE REAR OPENING DOOR IS INTACT AND HINGES ARE STILL IN FINE CONDITION. THE APPLIED FEET ARE INTACT AS WELL.

ALL THE APPLIED HANDLES THROUGHOUT ARE INTACT. EVEN THE ORIGINAL SIDE GREASE SPOUT IS STILL INTACT. THIS WAS USED TO EMPTY THE GREASE FROM THE ROASTER AFTER USE.

THE SURFACE IS UNTOUCHED AND COMPLETELY ORIGINAL.
