A good later 18th or 19thcentury ok writing slope or table desk. Sloping hinged lid with palin interior.Very nice polished antique surface with a lovely rich dark patina. Made withquarter sawn oak so there is plenty of figuring from the medullary rays in thewood. The top displays a wonderful dark figured effect which is actuallycenturies of ink blots and splashes that have gone in to the polish. A verynice effect indeed in my opinion

Condition;

Good sound structural condition with good firm joints. Niceold dark polished surface in good condition. Three dovetails have broken out ofthe rear LH joint many years ago by the look of the surfaces. This has notaffected the firmness of the joint. The hinges are in good order and functionperfectly. The slope formerly had a central division and a rear shelf at sometime but these appear to have been removed long ago.
