This large antique Napoleonic prisoner of war made straw box dates to around 1810/20, the box is made of wood that has fantastic woven straw work designs all over as seen in the photos, there are designs of towns with houses on the sides of the box , ornate flower designs on the lid and front and inside there are more designs of houses and flower designs that retain a lovely strong colour , there are compartments inside and a pull out drawer at the bottom , there is a lock but no key , the box measures 10.5 x 7 x 4.25 inches , there is some of the straw work designs missing mostly on the lid and front of the box , there is general wear and tear with age that you would expect from something 200 years old
