English -dating from the beginning of the 20th century, (possibly earlier).
The large cast bronze circular base plate is mounted with a pierced and angled central gnomon. The gnomon incorporates a cast \'S\' scroll. A pair of wrought iron pins lock the gnomon in position.
The face of the base plate incorporates hourly divisions indicated with engraved Roman numerals. The central area is engraved with a compass rose - a corresponding \'sun in splendour\' indicates the compass points.
This example is titled with the motto, \"Sunny Hours\" - see image 7.
Six mounting holes are incorporated to the base plate.
Overall diameter - 12\" (305mm).
Weight - 1,546 grams

Condition - Very Good. No cracks or dents. Surface marks, (consistent with genuine age). Fine natural colour and patina.
