CONDITION: IT’S IN SUPERB CONDITION THROUGHOUT
THIS IS AN ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PERIOD LOCKET OF NEAT PREPORTIONS, AN ‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 Pence set in inset picture for size comparisons).
This SHIELD SHAPED locket has foliate engraving to the front with a ridged patterned edging, with a gold top holding ring with inner diameter of 3 mm.
Reverse side is of same format with foliate engraving to top section and below is a cartouche area, this has monogramme \'M.R.R.\' Sides has chevron patterning.
This locket is that lovely mellow rose gold found in jewellery items from the years bordering the turning of the 19th/20th century (not today\'s brash pink rose gold).
Yes, this locket is in excellent condition, no dints,bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all. Nice polished surface throughout.
(Please note that any markings on this locket are due to reflection rather than a blemish or discolouration of the gold surface).

Inside the locket has watered silk insets and Perspex covers, there are retaining rims to both sides. The locket is firm with no buckle effect at all when pressed.
